You may or may not have noticed a little robot peering at you from atop your EcoFlow app.

That's the "EcoFlow Assistant". It's possible they only rolled this out to select people for now.

We have no idea what it does, because we immediately turned it off since we didn't ask for that. If you tap on it, it provides a privacy disclosure that basically tells you that your information would be sold to who-knows-where, possibly somewhere in "CHI-NA!" (Donald Trump voice) - which implies that there's sort of voice/AI whatever going on. Which might even lead to an open mic situation. (Apple devices are decently good at identifying apps that do this and disallowing such access)

You can Disagree to the terms, but it won't go away. You must go to "Me" (at the bottom) --> EcoFlow Assistant to turn it off.

Our thoughts:

  1. You should NOT be pushing extraneous software without asking the customer whether they want it or not.

  2. You should NOT be pushing "Beta" software without proper disclaimers about beta software testing and what will happen to the information after the beta period (i.e. deleted).

  3. You should NOT be focusing on something like this before you've solved your other lingering, unresolved problems:

    1. Undocumented error codes

    2. Smart Home Panel 2 - DELTA Pro can't work with DELTA Pro 3

    3. Smart Home Panel 2 - DELTA Pro 3 can't work with DELTA Pro Ultra

    4. Smart Home Panel 2 - Input/Output Double Voltage Hub firmware not upgrading properly

    5. Smart Home Panel 2 - failing relays potentially related to improper high voltage management on the AC ports

    6. Smart Home Panel 2 - improper relay toggling due to the app not checking current toggle state in advance

    7. Installers for Smart Home Panels showing up with their hand out asking for more money

    8. API depending on the app being open in order to do stuff (Means it's calling a server somewhere)

    9. Inability to manage devices without having to rely on EcoFlow's servers or internet access (i.e. HomeAssist or other).

    10. Bluetooth trust getting lost randomly (due to a wireless trust issue that depends on a server to reestablish it)

    11. EcoFlow app not displaying properly on Android large tablets

    12. Support not responsive except at midnight/hours when Americans are not awake

    13. Tier 1 resistant to basic resolution of obvious issues (i.e. firmware downgrade requests)

    14. Lack of a physical factory reset button on any of the units

    15. DELTA 3 Max Plus inverter errors when discharged to zero

    16. 5m Battery Cable out of stock for months with no logical reason for it

    17. Etc etc etc etc etc etc.

Ultimately, we're suggesting: whether this "tool" is of any value at any point to any customer, it feels like you've got other issues that should have been treated as much higher on the priority list than this.
